These terms apply when you use the wonderwhy app and the wonderwhy.net website (together, “the service”). By using the service you accept them. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the service.
Who we are

The service
wonderwhy turns news from public sources into short audio briefings, answers your questions about them and shows where sources tell a story differently.
- AI-generated content. AI writes the summaries and answers, and an AI voice reads them. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they can misstate or mix up what sources say. Don’t rely on them alone for decisions about health, money, law or safety. Check the original sources, which the app shows for every story.
- Third-party news. The news comes from its publishers. Showing a story doesn’t mean we agree with it, and publishers don’t endorse the app.
- Changes. We may add, change or remove features, including languages and editions.
Age and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
- You can use the app as a guest or with an account. If you create an account, give accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Acceptable use
When you use the service, don’t:
- break the law or anyone else’s rights;
- try to get around usage limits or security measures, or access our systems without permission;
- copy or collect content in bulk, redistribute it or use it to train AI models;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the question feature to produce harmful, hateful or illegal content, or to harass anyone;
- put other people’s personal information in reports.
We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules.
Content and intellectual property
- News stories, headlines and images belong to their publishers. The app names the sources of every story.
- The app, its design and name, and the summaries and audio we produce belong to us or our licensors.
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Price
The service is free at the moment. If we ever add paid features, we will tell you in advance and won’t charge you without your explicit agreement.
Availability
We try to keep the service running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. News production depends on outside sources and services, and it can be delayed or stop. We may suspend or end the service; if we end it, we will try to tell you in advance.
Liability
The service is provided free of charge and “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of AI-generated content.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer, including under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the consumer law of the country where you live.
Ending the service
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first.
App stores
If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn’t responsible for claims about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes are handled by the courts and consumer arbitration committees that are competent under Turkish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of that country’s mandatory consumer law and can also bring claims in its courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
