An example story

How the audio news briefing works

Three clips from the app’s own intro, made from a real story (24 September 2026). The sources’ names are hidden, as they are in the app.

1Listen

Your briefing, read aloud: a few minutes from the topics you pick.

Honda Shifts Focus from Electric Vehicles to Next-Gen Hybrids

Transcript

Automotive giant Honda has canceled two electric models planned for North America and is turning to next-generation hybrids.

2Ask

Hold the mic and ask. The answer comes in the same voice, then the briefing picks up where it left off.

Example

Transcript

Question: What does that mean?

Answer: Carmakers are turning back to hybrid technology instead of going fully electric.

3Compare

When sources tell a story differently, you see where they part ways. How source comparison works

Example

Source 1

“Honda will prioritize its next-generation hybrid models.”

Source 2

“Two electric models for North America are canceled; the new hybrid cuts costs by 30 percent.”

Different angle

One tells the story of a new push, the other of a retreat.

When does production start?

next year

Source 2

2027

Conflicting

What you hear

The sources tell this story differently. Source 1 describes a new push; Source 2, a retreat. They also disagree on when production starts: one says next year, the other says 2027.

Scientists discover chemosynthetic bacteria living on coral reef fish gills

Scientists have discovered chemosynthetic bacteria living on the gills of coral reef fish. While these bacteria were previously known to live in marine environments and alongside invertebrates like worms and mollusks, this is the first time they have been found on fish. Researchers believe this specialized microbiome could play a crucial role in fish metabolism, immunity, and health.

Questions

Frequently asked

Where can I get it?

On the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. It’s free to download.

Which languages and editions are there?

The app is in English, Turkish, Spanish and German. There are five editions: Türkiye (Turkish), United States (English), World (English), Spain (Spanish) and Germany (German).

Who writes and reads the news?

AI writes the briefings from public news sources, and an AI voice reads them. Every story shows its sources. AI can make mistakes, so check the original when it matters.

Is it like a news podcast?

Like a news podcast made for you: a few minutes of news on the topics you pick, written and read by AI and updated through the day. Stop it anytime to ask a question.

Is my question recorded?

Your spoken question is sent to Google’s Gemini service so it can be understood and answered. We don’t store the recording. The question and answer are kept only if you report an answer (for 7 days) or when a “what is …?” question is saved to My questions in your Library (until you delete your account). The Privacy Policy has the details.

Where does the news come from?

From news outlets’ public feeds (RSS). The app groups stories that several outlets cover and shows where they differ.

Does it cost anything?

It’s free to download, and you can listen for a set time every day for free. A Premium subscription unlocks features such as unlimited and offline listening, with no ads; the App Store and Google Play show the price.

Does it work with CarPlay and Android Auto?

Yes, with Premium. Start your briefing from the car’s screen and move between Today, My list and sections.

How do voice commands work?

While you listen, say a short command like “stop”, “next” or “faster”. Commands work with headphones. Your phone’s own speech recognizer understands them; the audio isn’t sent anywhere.

Can I listen offline?

Yes, with Premium. Download today’s stories to your phone and listen without a connection. Downloads are removed the next day.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In your App Store or Google Play account. The steps are on the Support page.

How do I get help?

See the Support page or write to info@yelkovan.ai.
